In 2024, St Bene’t’s received the A Rocha Eco Church Bronze Award, and we are already striving for silver. We believe that caring for Creation is an important Christian value, and one that we celebrate both as a community and in our own homes. Our environmental stewardship includes:

• Solar panels which generate far more electricity than we use, as well as buying Green tariff electricity and gas.

• Environmentally sustainable practices in ministry — from composting our kitchen waste, to encouraging coming to church on foot, by bus, or bike, to helping one another consider how our own household practices can reflect our stewardship of Creation.

• Preaching and teaching about the faithful work of Creation care and environmental stewardship, and connecting with local environmental organisations.
