Advent & Christmas
Christmas started with love, at the manger where everyone is welcome. A time to break down walls and make room for everyone.
For over a thousand years, St Bene’t’s has been a beacon of hope and a refuge of peace in the heart of Cambridge. Join us at St Bene’t’s for services, book groups, music and more, as we celebrate the light that shines in the darkness!
Advent Book Group
Starting on 27 November, join us as we read"Listening to the Music of the Soul" by the Rt Rev'd Dr Guli Francis-Dehqani, chosen as the Archbishop of York’s Advent Book. We have two groups, meeting 7pm Thursdays by Zoom, 2pm Fridays in church. Contact the vicar for the Zoom details!
Charles Dickens & Faith
There’s more to Dickens than holiday-season productions of A Christmas Tale! Our LLM, Mel Eyeons (PhD, University of Nottingham) leads a ‘Resourcing Faith’ talk on 6 December at 10.30am on the Christian faith of Charles Dickens. Tickets available at this link.
Advent Sundays
At our 10am Eucharist service on Sundays, members of the St Bene’t’s team will be preaching on the themes of Advent, and our calling as a people of hope in troubled times. Our first Sunday of Advent also includes a baptism, at the start of the new Church year. You can see our whole service schedule at this link.
Taizé
A meditative candlelit service of song and silence, Sunday, 7 Dec. at 8pm, for Advent and the eve of the Feast of the Conception of our Lady Mary. We hold Taizé services on the first Sunday of the month at 8pm.
